LDC Round 2: Immortals beat Sameji in a derby game- January 25, 2023
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LDC. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Capitanes - Evolve OL 106-99 An exciting game was played in Santiago. Capitanes faced Evolve OL. Host Capitanes defeated guests from 106-99. Capitanes outrebounded Evolve OL 49-26 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Evolve OL's players. Forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) had a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Adris Rodriguez (203-1988) chipped in 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Capitanes' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aneury Parra responded with 30 points and Benny Nova scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Capitanes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Fenix. Sameji was smashed at home by 31 points 84-115 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Immortals dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Sameji's 54. They outrebounded Sameji 57-30 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Immortals made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward James Milton (203-1992, college: Stevenson) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Angel Rivas (198-1993) chipped in 29 points and 8 rebounds. Four Immortals players scored in double figures. Forward Jonathan Aybar (206-2001, college: UNF) produced 26 points and American guard DAngelo Elliott (196, college: Temple JC) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Immortals is looking forward to face Del Patio in the next round. Capitanes outrebounded Sameji 59-40 including 28 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Center Adris Rodriguez (203-1988) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 27 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Oliver Ferreira (189-1993) contributed with 31 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Canadian-Ghanian point guard James Agyeman (178-1994) replied with 17 points and forward Jonathan Aybar (206-2001, college: UNF) added 16 points in the effort for Sameji. Benny Nova responded with 30 points and 8 rebounds and American guard DeJon Waters Jr (190-1997, college: Pitt St.) scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Immortals and five Evolve OL players scored in double figures. Immortals will meet Del Patio in the next round. Evolve OL will play against Santiago Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
